MORATORIUM ON RESIDENTAL PLANNING PROPOSALS IN THE LANE COVE LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

SIGN BELOW TO SLOW DOWN DEVELOPMENT IN LANE COVE

We are seeking a moratorium to stop developers being able to change local planning rules to suit them until local infrastructure can catch up to current development.

Did you know that developers can ask the State Government to change local planning rules set by Council?

They can also appeal to the State Government to ask for environmental rules to be changed if they can’t get their plans passed by Council.

Lane Cove has already exceeded the 2021 Housing Target set by the State Government.

The NSW State Government has still not released the Land Use Infrastructure and Implementation Plan (LUIIP) that would explain how it will help Lane Cove provide upgraded services to its residents.

Until we have that plan, development must slow down!

We, the undersigned, demand a moratorium on residential planning proposals in the Lane Cove Local Government Area until the NSW Government releases its Land Use Infrastructure and Implementation Plan (LUIIP) and any changes to the Lane Cove Local Environment Plan have been gazetted.

There are over 420 Aged Care and Seniors living units planned within a radius of 2km. Pathways, Australian Unity (266 Longueville rd), Greenwich hospital and Caroline Chisholm.

An extraordinary oversupply purely driven by developer profitability (rather than seniors needs) due to NSW Planning and council lending a blind eye to significant over-development and non-compliance with environmental plans.

Also need to retain bushland and avoid threats to bushland from adjacent over development.

I am tred of paying the price for sly, dirty politicians lying and creating such a horrid mess in Lane Cove. It is so very dangerous driving along Gordan Crescent to get to Mindarie Street. Sometimes the cars have to stop to allow each other past. If a fire does happen, people will panic and be trapped, possibly losing their lives?

We don’t just need a moratorium WE NEED A COMPLETE STOP. LANE COVE IS FULL AND IS BECOMING VERY VERY UGLY. So many residents are unhappy with the people and building congestion and would like to move out. No more is it the desirable suburb it once was!!!!!

I am categorically opposed to Lane Cove council plans to rezone St Leonard’s South area. It must remain low density.

I think the foreign developers are now dictating and transforming our way of life by putting pressures on both Lane Cove Council and IPC to bow to their demand of creating massive housing projects for sale to attract an avalanche of residents at least 17 times the current number to live on a few existing green, tree-lined, narrow and winding streets to achieve mega profits with no respect to the environment, the native animals, the landscape, and the intending residents. They have to be stopped before they are capable to transform our suburbs into concrete urban slums similar to the projects built overseas. We have to stand up for ourselves to fight against foreign invasion of our suburbs by their massive wealth.

I’ve seen an increase in graffiti in general areas of lane cove, such as the interchange bus stop, as well as private resident’s fences and boundary walls. I believe if we increase the amount of extra curricular activities which take place in the area, keep the children busy (aimed at mid to late teens) then we could help to keep them busy and deter them from taking part in these destructive activities.
